There are some authors who make arguements about same-sex marriage. Some of them claim it could not be allowed by governments, laws or some defend it has to be legitimize; some see marriage as only male-female relationship, others determine marriage as sharing of love, self-sacrifice, commitment and etc. But the most controversial question is that should same-sex marriage be legally allowed or not.
In my opinion, same-sex marriage should be allowed, because life of homosexuals are private and they are human, so they think, live, breathe like other people. Their private life cannot be questioned by others, so to object to their marriage is meanless. Instead of legitimization of same-sex marriage, the main question has to be that will they be accepted by the rest of society. Many homophobic societies take a dim view to them because of religious and traditional reasons. For instance, in Turkey people are affected by sentences of Quran and in Turkish traditions, men give huge important to horse, WOMAN and gun, so gays are seen like aliens in Turkish society.
But anyway, people have to change their mind, they have to gain more effective education, meet more people and acquire different perspectives. Therefore, they will understand that legitimization of same-sex marriage is not very bigh problem as much as to be objected.
To be honest, while i was reading your post, every each of your sentence made me suprised. i clearly remember your ideas when we were discussing this issue in class. but that's ok you may have changed your mind after the lesson.. also you may remember that i had some stirct ideas about same sex marriage. after the lesson i had enough time to think about this issue again. now i notice that my opinions have been softened by thinking deeply and reading different kinds of texts. i'm free to confess that i agree with this post in a way.
ReplyDeleteThe unique steady thing is changing :) Some ideas and different perspectives force you to think deeply and logically. As a result, i left my strict ideas about this issue :)
